Thyroid blood tests are used to tell if your thyroid gland is functioning properly by measuring the number of thyroid hormones in your blood. A thyroid function test looks at levels of thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroxine (T4) in the blood and is used to diagnose and monitor the treatment of thyroid disease.
